Today I’m glad I’m in my studio working. I hear it’s very hot out. I hate to working outside. I’m allergic to grass and and pollen! If I have to cut or trim the grass I will, but most of the time my wife Amy does that. She loves the smell of fresh cut grass anyway. Do you prefer to be indoors or outside? 

Recently I voiced some short medical narrations to accompany some drug focused Internet videos. They liked it so much, they ordered more! YEA! 

I took a 4 mile walk today. I feel good! Do you exercise at all? Does talking a long walk or run (or any kind of exercise for that matter) make you feel good? 

When I was working the job I hated, (the janitor job) I walked a lot – about 8 miles a day, and I lost weight. I got down to the weight I always wanted to be. Around 200 lbs! (I was 200lbs in the summer / fall of 2010)

In May of this year, I quite my “other” job again (after leaving it and then coming back to it…again) this time I quite because my son was born and I went into voice overs full time! (At that time – May of this year - I was about 210lbs)  It’s only been 2 months since I quite that job and I’m already up to 225lbs.

All I do is sit in front of my computer, (work) sit and watch TV (relaxing), and eat. Sometimes I take my daughter to the park. But I feel I’m getting so fat that I get tired way to quick!

Ok, in all seriousness…I know I’m not THAT fat. I’m not morbidly obese! Although my paints waist size is up to 42 now! I would like to keep it at 40 or maybe even 38! 38 might seem big to some people, but I can live with 38! I can’t live with 42’s or (God help me) 44’s! 

I’ve had enough!

I Don’t Want To Buy ANOTHER Pair Of Pants THE NEXT SIZE UP!!!! 

I don’t have a job that makes me exercise or walk all the time, so I have to schedule it myself! Taking care of my body has GOT to be a part of what I do EVERYDAY….like taking my daughter to school or working in my recording studio.

Walking outside on a nice sunny day or inside on the treadmill. I need to do…..SOMETHING!!!

I also need to cut down on the cans of pop I drink and less sugar in my coffee. I am NOT going to go on a strict diet, I’m just going to cut back and get moving!

It begins…today!

There’s a quite I like from the movie The Shawshanke Redemption! Get busy living or get busy dying!

My wife came home from work, I took a shower, got dressed and then told her “well, I’m off to work”.

She rolled her eyes. Then I proceeded to walk downstairs.

I LOVE DOING THAT! 

Here’s a question for my fellow voice over friends: (or anyone with a home business for that matter)

I’m going to get some new business cards soon. I think my business cards should match the color and design of my web site. My wife seems to think I should be a little more creative. What do you think?

Should your business cards MATCH the colors and design of your web site?

Or…does that much detail really mater that much?

Thank you for understanding and being patient with me this week. This week I don’t have a baby sitter so this week (during the day) I’m being Mr. Mom, and I can’t get to my VO work until later in the day, when my wife comes home from work.

But once I’m in my studio I’ll do my best to make sure everything is done on time.

Right now, I’m trying to hurry to get some VOs done before I head to bed tonight.

Next week our baby sitter is on vacation so (since I am my own baby sister’s back up) next week, I’m Mr. Mom…taking care of 2 kids all day by my self! Well, expect for when Paige goes to pre-school, then it’s just me and Mason.

Next week will be my true test to see how much VO work I can get done during the day while also taking care of a 2 month old. 

I’m trying to do a couple of VO projects before my wife goes to blow her horn in the church social. She’s in a band called, THE BRASS NOTES. They play for free at schools, in parade’s and church outings. She likes playing. It makes her happy.
