I didn’t get vary much sleep last night. It was my turn to stay up and feed our 6 week old son Mason at 2am and 5am.
I have a headache from lack of sleep and I need to do some VO work later.
I don’t know how my wife Amy does it. She’s an amazing woman!
I haven’t posted on my facebook, G+ or Twitter in a little while. I’ve been a little busy with family stuff and then voice over work. Every client needs their VO work ASAP. I try so hard to make everybody happy. But you can’t win them all. Someone is bound to get a VO a tad bit late. But…family comes first! Right?
I’m about to watch Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol on DVD. I hope it’s good.
After staying up until 3am last night I’ve concluded that I’ve been working way to much in my studio these past few days. Today - NO AUDITIONS, NO VOICE WORK! Yep…I’m taking the day off.
Lately I’m gaining a lot of NEW clients who want me to voice Internet videos.
But sadly, this month, I will be losing a contract for the voice of an Internet station that I’ve been voicing for a while. You win some - you lose some.
Even though the station was a monthly paycheck, I make more for the Internet videos anyway.
Earlier this week I bought some Tang! I haven’t had Tang since I was a kid in the late 70’s and early 80’s. I LOVE IT! My 5 year old loves it to!
Then I looked at the ingredients and realized WHY I loved it as a kid and why my daughter loves it to.
The 1st ingredient…SUGAR!
I try to audition for at least 1 new job everyday! But, have you ever had a day where you have so much work that you just don’t have time to audition for MORE work?
TODAY is that day for me! It’s as if the VO flood gates have opened!
I know that everyday is different and tomorrow I might not have anything to do! But today, I have about 8 projects (some big, some small) that are all due TOMORROW!
I don’t mind though, I’ll take 8 voice over jobs over 8 hours of cleaning toilets ANY DAY!
Right now I’m voicing of of those…
“you can make lots of money using OUR system” videos.
I can’t begin to tell you how many DIFFERENT videos I’ve voiced that ALL say this exact same thing!
But you know, I try real hard to make each one sound like THAT one, is the one you need to buy!
About to watch Star Wars: Episode 3 - Revenge Of The Sith tonight.
I really miss LIVE ACTION Star Wars movies!
Please…someone tell George Lucas to make Ep. 7 - 8 - 9!
Or at least start over with a LIVE ACTION movie version of Star Wars: The Old Republic!
I’m selling my old records on Ebay. Here is the link to just ONE of them.
Auctions end TOMORROW!
To see the whole list, please click the link that says…SEE OTHER ITEMS!
I’m selling some stuff on ebay. 12 inch singles and rock albums. The link below is just 1 of many! Please click “see other items” for the compete list.
Hay…have you heard of this thing called a phonebook?
Everybody has a 7 digit user number. You enter the user number of the person you want to communicate with. You can actually hear their voice & they can hear yours, allowing you to have a meaningful conversation. No ads, no bulls**t. Check it out.
I love this new technology!!
As I said before, I am very lucky to get a bunch of small voice over jobs. I like it that way. Money is money, no matter how small or big the job is!
But…sometimes clients want their job done NOW. No problem, unless they ALL want their job done ASAP!
And then, when you finish one job and go on to the next, sometimes that client wants a change but doesn’t realize that you have OTHER jobs to do too!
CLIENT: why haven’t you responded?
ME: because I was doing OTHER projects!
Do some of YOUR clients seem to think that THEY are the only job you have and you need to be at their beck and call, 24 / 7?
Has this ever happen to you?
Here’s a question to all my VO friends:
How long is your work day? What I mean is, do you have a typical 8 hour day? Maybe 9 or 10 hours? Or is your day split up? 4 hours in the morning, 3 hours at night?
How long to do spend in your studio doing your WORK?
