Fat Tuesday!
To all the morbidly obese people in the world…today is YOUR holiday! (you know I’m only kidding!) Actually I’m going to go out and get a pączki this morning. If you don’t know what it is, it’s kinda like a jelly doughnut made with more fatting stuff in it. I’m not giving up anything for lent. I’m not into that. But I do LOVE these pączkis! Happy Fat Tuesday everybody!

I'm screwed either way
I’m sure I told you I’m a voice actor. I’m also sure I told you about my wife who is expecting our 2nt child. And that I took on a 2nt job I to help me pay for a room to be built in the basement. A new recording booth.
This 2nt job is 2nt shift. I actually WANTED to go on 2nt so I would have more time in the day time to do my voice projects and make my videos.
The problem is, staying up late is taking it’s toll on me. On Monday and Tuesday I seem to be OK. But by Wednesday the lack of sleep starts to get to me. For the past 2 weeks I’ve slept in until 10am on Thursday. This week….I slept in today. Wednesday. Wednesday’s are a day when I have extra time…sort of.
You see, my daughter only goes to pre-school 3 days out of the week. Mon. Tue. & Thur. So Wed. & Fri. she goes to the baby sister so I can get my work done at home. My wife takes her to the sitters at 6:30am. So I have until the time she leaves at 6:30am until 3pm to get all my voice work and videos done.
The problem is, if I’m sleeping in until 10am, 1/2 the day is gone! I just missed all that extra time I would have had!
When I was working during the day, I would get home by 2:15pm, do some voice work, then have to go pick up my daughter from school at 3:30, get back into my booth at 6:30pm or 7. Stay in there until about 9, maybe 10. To me…it didn’t seem like I had a lot of time to do my VO work, so I went on 2nt shift.
But now, if I’m sometimes sleeping in until 10am, I’m losing a lot of that extra time I need.
I’m seemed to be screwed either way.
The good thing is, I plan on quieting this 2nt job about late May. I want to spend time with my wife when she has our new baby in June.
And hopefully, buy that time, the booth will be made and ready for me to make lots of money in it!

I just need to get my ass out of bed!

Is it OK to have a 2nt baby shower for your 2nt child?
For those of you who fallow me on facebook, Google Plus, Twitter (even though I don’t tweet that much) and any other social networking web sites I’m apart of, know that my wife and I are expecting our 2nt child.
On Facebook and Google Plus I asked…if you (or your spouse) were pregnant, would you want to know the sex of the baby AHEAD of time? Most of the people said yes. Although a few people said that, not knowing the sex of a baby until it’s born is one of life’s great surprises. That is true….but I want to prepare! So I want to know.
On Wed. Feb. 8 my wife and I found out what the sex of the baby is. So if you don’t want to know…stop reading.
OK….all clear now?

This blog is a sneak preview of a video question I’m going to post on Youtube soon.
The question is simple…Do We have Another Baby Shower?
My wife thinks that every women should only get 1 baby shower in their life time. One shower for their first child. That’s it.
But…on the other hand…our first kid (our daughter, Paige) is 5 years old! (she’ll be 5 and ½ when the new baby is finally born) and…the new baby is going to be a different sex! We are totally unprepared for this! All the baby stuff, from when Paige was just a baby, is GONE! And even though we have some of Paige’s old baby close…they are for a baby GIRL!
I can totally see the justification of having ANOTHER baby shower.
Of course, if my wife and I decided to have ANOTHER kid, just 2 years from now, then I can see NOT having another baby shower for the 3rdchild. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
So what do you think…do you think it’s OK for my wife to have ANOTHER baby shower for our NEW baby?
(remember, I will also post a more creative video to this question either tomorrow or Tuesday or next week)

My Second Job
In case some of you don’t know, I took on a 2nt job to help pay for the construction of my recording booth in the basement. My wife and I didn’t have the money in savings and we REALLY didn’t want to put it on a credit card or take out a loan. I also have to move out of the room I’m currently in, I’ll tell you why in a little bit.
This job is the same job I had before (between December of 2009 and May of 2010) but now I work 2nt shift. (before I worked 1st shift) I wanted to work 2nt shift this time! To keep my days open for my voice over business.
The down fall about working 2nt shift is, when I come home at 11pm, I usually have to wind down. So I’m usually up until 12 midnight. Oh, I sometimes go right to bed, and get to sleep by 11:30, but most of the time I don’t. And I still get up between 5:30 and 6am Monday – Friday. So, on average I usually get between 5 - 5 and 1/2 hours of sleep a night…Monday – Friday.
This job is an easy job to do, but it’s a hard physical job. It’s a job where most people would get paid minimum wage to do, but I wasn’t having anything of that. I will not tell you WHAT I get paid, but I will tell you it’s NOT minimum wage! I know I do my job well too. I very rarely have any complaints. People know (and can SEE) I work hard!
And…I hate my job!!!
Well, let me rephrase that. I LOVE the people I work with! I love how they really know and can see I work hard. I love how they can count on me to get things done! But I really, really, really…DON’T like the actually “job” part. This isn’t a job anybody really goes out and peruses as a career. On the other hand, I do love how almost everybody likes me at my job. (I’m a very likeable guy! :))
Today (Friday 2/3/2012) my lack of rest finally caught up with me. I went to bed at midnight. Work up at 5:30am, made my wife breakfast and helped her get my daughter up…and…by 6:30, I went back to bed. I didn’t wake up until 10am!!!! I slept for almost 10 non-consecutive hours!
I NEVER SLEEP THIS MUCH!
Is my body trying to tell me something? This never happened when I worked days!
As I said before, one of the biggest reasons I took this job is to make some extra money to pay someone to make my recording booth in the basement. You see, right now, my recording booth is in another bedroom. But I have to move out of that room…here’s why.
My plan is to work at this job until late May of this year. My wife Amy is pregnant with our 2nt child. The baby is due in June. When the baby comes I want to spend a few weeks with her to help her with the baby and stuff. Heck…I really want to be home as much as I can for her!
Besides, if all goes according to plan, I shouldn’t need this “extra” job anymore by then anyway. So, for the most part, this job is just to help pay for the construction of the booth.
I really want this to work out so bad!
I want to make voice overs and Youtube videos as my career!
(well, more on the voice over end. Youtube videos are mainly for fun, but it would be nice to someday make some extra money for the videos I make on Youtube)
After all, I’m making a ROOM in my basement specially for voice overs. (the outside wall will be for making videos) This had better work!! No…let me change that…I know it will work!
Do you know WHY I know it will work…? Because I REALLY don’t want to do THIS job anymore. It’s wearing me out.
